Loch Ochiltree is the associations premier loch. It is situated 7 miles North-West of Newton Stewart. It is a large expanse of water and fishes very well from both boat and bank. The loch has some excellent drifts for boat fishing, and fish of up to 5lb + are taken regularly with good double figure fish being taken also.

There is a boat house with two boats. Fishing on either side of the boat house is excellent, as these are the areas where the fish mainly congregate and feed. The wading in the loch can be quite difficult in areas so take care and watch out for your tackle.

Boat hire is available for day and evening sessions and costs can be obtained from Galloway Guns & Tackle.

A days fishing on Loch Ochiltree costs £15.00.
