Loch Kirriereoch is situated on the approach from Glentrool Village via the minor road that runs north through the Glentrool Forest to Laglanny. The loch is on the east of the road and drains into Minnoch Water, a tributary of the River Cree.
Surrounded by the scenic Galloway Hills, here we have a loch that provides the brown trout enthusiast with some excellent sport!
The brownies here are of stock and wild varieties, and both give a good fight when hooked! The association no longer stocks brown trout at Kirriereoch as stocks are plentiful and self-sustaining. Fish are taken from all around the shore, although the treeless west bank is perhaps the most productive area.
In the summer months the midges go mad here, so make sure you take plenty of Jungle Formula and possibly even a head net.
A days fishing on Loch Kirriereoch costs £15.00.
