Clatteringshaws Loch is situated about five miles west of New Galloway on the A712 heading towards Newton Stewart. The surrounding scenery is stunning and is complimented by the breathtaking dam wall. Clatteringshaws was impounded in the 1930's as part of the Doon Hydro-electric generating scheme. It has a shore-line that extends for more than 5 miles and, because of fluctuations in the water level, wading is not advised.
The association has trout fishing on this loch and like the other lochs in the area, the wind will dictate where you fish. Generally speaking, the north end of the loch is the most productive.
A days fishing on Clatteringshaws Loch costs £15.00.
