Newton Stewart is a small town situated in the South-West of Scotland and is a popular stopping point of holidaymakers from all around the world. The town is built along the River Cree which flows out of Loch Moan.
The River Cree enters Wigtown Bay on the Solway Firth and has an excellent run of spring salmon and fabulous sea trout fishing. The people of Newton Stewart take pride in knowing that they have some of the finest fishing in Scotland and indeed the United Kingdom.
This site is designed to give anglers an insight into the many different fishings available throughout Newton Stewart and the surrounding areas by Newton Stewart Angling Association. The area really is a gamefishing paradise which caters for all anglers young and old with facilities to accommodate disabled anglers too.
The website has a listing for all of the Association's fishings and this year we celebrate our 60th anniversary.
In time, the site should grow to be a valuable resource for fishing in the area and content is always welcomed. Additionally, we hope we have provided you with all the necessary information needed to visit our town and enjoy our fishing. If you are interested in learning more about Newton Stewart, we have organised a links section which we're sure will assist you in answering any questions you may have. If not just send us an email or alternatively fill out the form below and we will endeavour to assist you in any way we can.
